Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden with approximately 300 000 inhabitants.
Västra Hamnen - located north from the central. In this area you will find a lot of newly built areas and the extra ordinaire building Turning Torso, that have become Malmö’s landmark. For those who knows Stockholm and Gothenburg, this area can be compared with Hammarby Sjöstad, Lindholmen and Eriksberg.
Västra innerstaden - Most of the houses in this area was built in the 1940’s or 1950’s. It has lots of parks and green areas. In the building “kronThere are lots of restaurants and smaller shops here as well as an shopping mall
Möllevången - For locals this area is called “Möllan” and here there are a lot of bars, restaurants and clubs, it has become an ethnic diversity regarding food and business, as well as a subcultural character. This area can be compared with Stockholm’s’ Södermalm and Gothenburgs’ Majorna.
Limhamn - Earlier this was a city on it’s own but as Malmö has grown bigger, Limhamns became an district of western Malmö. It is considered as one of the best areas of Malmö.
Rosengård - Just like in every city Malmö too have areas that are considered less good or “safe”. But you should know that in even in these areas, you are safe in comparison to other cities in the world.
